A fresh controversy has hit Nollywood as actress Olaide Olabanji makes shocking claims against popular star Mercy Aigbe, accusing her of betrayal and wickedness.

The Yoruba movie actress alleged that she was instrumental in introducing Mercy Aigbe into the Nollywood industry, but was later treated unfairly by the same person she helped.

 What Olaide Olabanji Said

According to Olaide Olabanji, she played a key role in helping Mercy Aigbe gain access to acting opportunities in her early days.

The filmmaker explained that Aigbe’s behaviour towards him changed drastically following her success, stressing that she even went to the extent of blocking him on social media.

In a recent interview with media personality Oyinmomo, Olabanji claimed that the actress, once warm and approachable, now appears distant and hostile whenever they cross paths.

He further alleged that Aigbe resents him to the extent of wishing him “death.”

He said, “I brought Mercy Aigbe into the movie industry. I saw her in a shop in 2004 and asked her if she could act. She said yes, and I put her on. But now she is blocking me. To her, it is as if I should no longer exist.”

Mercy Aigbe is yet to react to Olabanji’s allegations.
