Obi meets S’African leaders over xenophobic attacks on Nigerians

Presidential aspirant in the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has intensified efforts to supply protection to Nigerians in South Africa following new reports of xenophobic attacks and rising depression among victims.

Obi made his involvement public in a Fb post on Saturday, detailing a sequence of high-stage conferences with South African authorities officials and political party leaders.

Obi described the conversations as “productive and candid,” with a level of curiosity on migration, financial strains, formative years unemployment, security issues, and rising tensions confronted by African foreigners in South Africa.

He emphasised that Nigeria and South Africa—as two of the continent’s most famed nations—must strengthen dialogue and be aware solutions in step with justice, mutual admire, and the guideline of legislation.

“In now not easy times, leaders and electorate alike must price responsible management, compassion, and restraint,” he said.

The discussions moreover pressured out the importance of legislation-abiding behavior, warding off violence, resisting abominate or provocation, and allowing correct institutions to deal with grievances by democratic processes.
