Asake Cancels Los Angeles Tour Stop Days Before Show
Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake has cancelled his scheduled Los Angeles concert, just days before he was due to perform at The Greek Theatre.
The show was scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, as part of Asake’s ongoing “In God We Trust” World Tour, but ticket holders were notified that the event had been cancelled.
Reason for Cancellation Remains Unknown
Neither Asake nor his team has publicly disclosed the reason for cancelling the Los Angeles date.
The cancellation has nevertheless sparked speculation online. Some social media users have attributed the decision to alleged ticket-sales concerns, while others have disputed that claim and suggested the concert was close to selling out. There is currently no official confirmation that ticket sales were responsible, so the speculation should not be presented as fact.
Fans to Receive Automatic Refunds
According to the cancellation notice sent to ticket buyers, refunds will be returned automatically to the original payment card.
Fans were told to expect the refund within five business days, with an additional two to three days potentially required for the money to appear in their accounts. No action is required from ticket holders.
The Los Angeles concert was one of 13 dates on Asake’s In God We Trust tour, which includes stops across North America and Europe. Other major cities on the itinerary include London, Paris, Atlanta, Toronto, Houston and Miami.
For now, the cancellation appears to affect the Los Angeles date specifically, while there has been no official announcement that the wider tour has been cancelled.
